Stock trading in Singapore on today (May 24 ) seemed favorable as the Singapore shares opened higher with the Straits Times Index increasing 14.19 focuses or 0.4 percent to 3,510.46 as at the opening time also the Strait Times Index closed at 3,528.92.

The reason for opening higher came after US stocks recovered lost ground overnight, after minutes from the Federal Reserve meeting struck a hesitant tone.
On the Singapore bourse, gainers dwarfed washouts 76 to 31, after around 34.1 million offers worth $59.2 million changed hands.
The most effectively exchanged counter by volume was Golden Agri-Resources, which rose 3.3 percent to $0.31, with 7.4 million offers exchanged.
Other dynamic list stocks included OCBC Bank which was up by one percent to $12.19; and ST Engineering which rose 0.6 percent to $3.46.
